About
Marc Bethke is a commercial and automotive director. Born in Hamburg, he studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles before spending over 15 years directing launch films and brand campaigns for BMW, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, MINI, Genesis, Bentley and BYD — across Europe, Southeast Asia, China, the US and Australia. Coming from a fiction-directing background, he works closely with actors and brings a performance-led sensibility to every film — on location, on set, and at scale. His director's cuts are where he shows it most honestly: finding the emotional truth inside beautifully engineered imagery. His short film Mikelis, starring James Cosmo, screened at over 30 festivals worldwide and won multiple awards. As co-founder of NON Studio, Marc also directs CGI, AI and hybrid productions — including a series of fully AI-generated films for BMW. He doesn't treat AI as a shortcut, but as a new set of tools under the same directorial eye. For live-action commercial work he directs independently. For CGI, AI and hybrid production, NON Studio is the production entity. Based between Europe and Southeast Asia — available worldwide.
